Gathering Metrics

Even as your schedule gets busier and busier the closer you get to GOTV, it’s important not to lose sight of the fact that your campaign is ending. Think ahead to ensure you’ve got everything you need as you search for your next career step. Metrics help you tell the story of your experience, and so it’s important to gather them before you lose login access to systems. The examples in this document are catered to organizing staff, but the concepts are translatable to all. In this guide, you will find the following:

  • Steps to take after the election
  • Working with your metrics
  • Putting it all together in your resume
  • Tips for non-organizing roles on campaigns

Note of thanks:
Much of the content in this guide was built by our friends at the Warren for President campaign as a resource for their organizers after the 2020 primary. Arena is grateful to WFP for the opportunity to translate their work into this tool as a resource for the entire progressive community.

Republicans have spent decades cultivating talent and investing for the long run, and right now we’re paying the price. Republicans control 30 state legislatures, 28 governors mansions, and are just a few seats away from regaining control of Congress. Together with an activist Supreme Court, they’re enacting policies that turn back progress on everything from abortion to voting rights to climate change.

Arena is building a new generation of political leaders who will lead the fight to save our democracy and build progressive power for the long run. It’s going to take all of us to make change. Join us in this work.
