We are excited to announce that on Tuesday all of the Arena endorsed candidates that were elected in 2018 won, or are likely to win, their primary elections.

Ritchie Torres, our candidate for NY-15, has a strong lead based off Tuesday’s results, and we feel confident that he will pull through as absentee ballots are counted in the coming weeks. Ritchie is on the verge of making history as the first openly gay Afro-Latino member of Congress.

In addition, Emerita Torres seems likely to win her bid to be the next State Committee member of the 85th Assembly District.

We are keeping a close eye on Emily Gallagher, candidate for State Assembly, while we wait for thousands of absentees ballots to be counted.

We continue to be inspired by the integrity and courage of Adem Bunkeddeko, and look forward to supporting his future endeavors.

There are more than 700,000 absentee ballots mailed in for Tuesday’s primary and we will not know the outcome for many of these races for weeks. We will update the Arena community as we know more. Until then, we know the work is not over, and will continue to support our amazing slate of candidates who are working to change our city.
